Hoskote: H.M. Muniraju, president of the Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat (Kannada Literary Council - KSP), stated that Kannada alone is sovereign in Karnataka. He emphasized that the language possesses the power to unite people, transcending caste, religion, and creed.
He was speaking at a felicitation program organized by the Kannada Sahitya Parishat for students who scored high marks in Kannada in the 2024-25 SSLC examinations, held at the Government High School grounds in Tavarekere village, Nandagudi hobli.
Muniraju expressed concern that in recent days, love for the language is being limited to only "Rajyotsava" (Karnataka Formation Day) celebrations, leading to a decline for the language. He stressed that love for the language should not be confined to just one month but should be continuous and everyday. "Regardless of any other language, Kannada should always be the priority," he asserted.
Former president T. Nagaraj, former president of the Karnataka Working Journalists' Association H.K. Manjunath, organizing secretary Makanahalli Manjunath, Nandagudi hobli president Harish, organizing secretary Bachchegowda, Taluk Journalists' Association president Nagaraj, school headmistress Gulbadan Tara, and assistant teachers Veena, Shilpa, Chaitra, and Vijayakumar were present at the event.
H.M. Muniraju, Taluk President of KSP, also highlighted that KSP has been felicitating and encouraging students who score the highest marks in Kannada for the past 45 years.
