In a horrifying incident, Bengaluru police have arrested four men for allegedly breaking into a home, gangraping a woman, and committing robbery in the late hours of Monday. The crime occurred at a residence where the woman had been invited by the house owner, who is known to be an acquaintance of the prime accused.

According to police reports, the prime accused was a friend of the house owner. Taking advantage of this familiarity, he entered the premises with three others under the pretense of a visit. However, the group turned violent, assaulting the woman and ransacking the house. They allegedly forced both the woman and the house owner to transfer money to an online gaming application before fleeing the scene.

The police acted swiftly upon receiving the complaint and launched an investigation that led to the identification and arrest of the four suspects on Wednesday. Preliminary questioning has revealed that the act was premeditated, with the intent to commit both sexual assault and digital financial fraud.

Authorities are now examining whether the same gang has been involved in similar offences elsewhere in the city. The accused are currently in police custody, and further interrogation is underway. The incident has sparked public outrage and renewed calls for improved safety measures and stricter surveillance, particularly around online financial crimes linked to physical assaults. Senior police officials have assured that the investigation will be fast-tracked, and charges will be framed under multiple sections related to rape, robbery, and cybercrime.
