As the city prepares for upcoming Gauri-Ganesha and Eid Milad festivities, authorities have announced several proactive measures to ensure peaceful and environmentally conscious celebrations. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and city police have emphasized the need for responsible festivities while addressing public concerns.
To reduce environmental impact, BBMP will deploy temporary mobile immersion units (mobile tanks) ward-wise at key locations and junctions. Citizens are urged to avoid installing idols made of non-biodegradable materials that may cause air or water pollution. Authorities reiterated that the Ganesh festival must be celebrated in an eco-friendly manner.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh stated that the administration has received valuable suggestions from citizens and is taking steps to resolve festival-related issues. Among the directives issued are instructions to fill potholes along key procession routes. In areas where road maintenance or whitewashing is still underway, temporary arrangements will be made to ensure safety and convenience.
Officials have also called for a complete ban on DJs during festival processions to maintain public order. Citizens have requested clarity on idol installation guidelines and timely repairs of roads leading to immersion sites. The BBMP and police department have assured that necessary coordination will be maintained to prevent disruptions. With a focus on peace, safety, and sustainability, the city aims to balance festive fervor with civic responsibility, ensuring smooth celebrations for all communities.
