Mahendra Munoth, owner of Maruti Medicals, has urged the Central Government to grant cow the status of a national animal.
Speaking at an event organized on Saturday at the Amritadhara Goshala on Kanakapura Road, in memory of Motilal Munoth Jain and Vimalabai Munoth Jain, he emphasized that considering the utility of cows, and they should be accorded the status of a national animal. "The cow is not just an 'animal' of the country, but also the 'life' of the country. Therefore, strict laws need to be formulated for the protection of cows," he stated.
Mahendra Munoth's family donated Rs. 51 lakh for the protection and service of cows. During the event, a tree plantation drive, with a resolution to plant saplings in all goshalas, was also launched. Sant Pukharaj, head of Krishna Goshala, Anand Krishnadas, head of Prabhupada Goshala in R.R. Nagar, and representatives from various other goshalas participated in the program
