The much-awaited Bengaluru Karaga Mahotsav is scheduled to take place from April 4 to 14, with the event’s grand finale on Chaitra Purnima, which falls on April 12. The 11-day-long festival will celebrate the powerful tradition of Draupadi Shakti Utsav, attracting participants and devotees from across the region. This year, the renowned priest A. Jnanendra will once again carry the revered Karaga, continuing a tradition he has upheld for the past 14 years. His dedication to the festival has made him a key figure in the city’s cultural celebrations. This will mark his 15th time leading the procession, an achievement that highlights his commitment to the event. During a meeting held on January 27, key figures such as the Executive Officer of the Muzrai Department, Naveen, and Satish, President of the Dharmaraya Swamy Temple’s managing committee, confirmed the festival dates and selected Jnanendra as the priest for the Karaga once again. This year’s festival will be particularly special, as it marks Jnanendra’s final Karaga Shakti Utsav, bringing a sentimental touch to the proceedings. The Karaga Mahotsav is a significant event in Bengaluru’s cultural calendar, known for its spiritual rituals, vibrant processions, and the celebration of local traditions. As the city prepares for this event, devotees are eager to witness the revered ceremony unfold once again under Jnanendra’s leadership.
