The BBMP’s e-katha initiative has received significant attention, with 67,000 applications already submitted and over 61,000 e-kathas distributed to date. Tushar Giri Nath, BBMP’s Commissioner, has directed that all pending applications be processed within the set deadline. The e-katha system, designed to facilitate the issuance of property records digitally, has been a crucial step toward streamlining civic services in the city. In a recent meeting, Giri Nath emphasized the importance of timely resolution for all pending applications. Revenue Department Special Commissioner, Munish Maudgil, stated that efforts have been made to ensure daily processing of applications, ensuring that citizens receive their e-kathas promptly. The BBMP has also focused on property tax collection, with officials instructed to take appropriate action against defaulters and recover dues by sealing commercial properties in areas where taxes are overdue. Additionally, BBMP officials have been urged to address citizens’ complaints promptly via various platforms, including the Sahaya 2.0 and social media. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, reduce bureaucracy, and improve the overall civic experience in Bengaluru. The BBMP has taken significant steps to ensure the timely processing of these e-Khata applications, with dedicated teams working around the clock to meet the deadline. The initiative also includes a robust grievance redressal system, allowing citizens to quickly resolve any issues related to their e-Khata applications.
