Bengaluru property owners struggling to obtain their E-Khata can now apply online through a newly launched BBMP website. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has introduced a dedicated portal, bbmpeaasthi.karnataka.gov.in, to streamline the process, ensuring issuance within two days if documents are in order.

BBMP Revenue Commissioner Manish Moudgil stated that citizens no longer need to visit BBMP offices. To ensure smooth processing, Assistant Revenue Officers (AROs) and caseworkers have been appointed for thorough application verification. As of March 21, 2.9 lakh applications were received, with 2.7 lakh processed and the remaining resolved by March 23. Moving forward, each new application will be processed within two days. To address technical challenges, daily video conferences are held with zonal officers handling E-Khata distribution. Immediate steps are taken to resolve any issues, ensuring prompt application processing.

Meanwhile, in Malleswaram, the Karnataka High Court has halted an illegal commercial building project at Sampige Road’s 4th Cross. The court, responding to a petition, noted violations, including constructing five additional floors beyond approval. BBMP had already issued a demolition notice on March 14. The next hearing is set for April 9. With the new system, Bengaluru residents can now obtain E-Khata faster and without hassle, marking a significant improvement in property documentation services. BBMP officials emphasize that the new online system will enhance transparency and reduce middlemen involvement, ensuring a smoother experience for property owners. Citizens can track their application status in real-time, minimizing delays and the need for repeated visits to offices.
