The Chief Commissioner of Bengaluru has issued a circular regarding the renewal of business licenses for the financial year 2025-26 within the BBMP jurisdiction. According to the new guidelines, business owners are required to renew their licenses for a period of 1 to 5 financial years, starting from April to March, based on their convenience. Business owners have been instructed to pay the renewal fees for the respective financial year. As in previous years, the license fees should be paid online or via bank challan at Canara Bank. The fee can be paid without a penalty from February 1 to February 28, 2025. A 25% penalty will be added if payment is made between March 1 and March 31, 2025. After April 1, 2025, a 100% penalty will be imposed on the renewal fee. Additionally, the process of license renewal must be completed entirely online. The guidelines also outline certain restrictions based on zoning regulations. In residential areas with roads less than 40 feet wide, businesses started after 2015 will not be allowed to renew their licenses. In areas with roads wider than 40 feet, businesses started after 2015 will be allowed to renew, but only within the stipulated area. The circular also mandates compliance with waste management and public health regulations, including proper waste disposal practices and plastic-free measures for businesses such as hotels and restaurants. Businesses generating over 100 kg of waste are required to provide documentation for waste processing and disposal. The circular was issued by Chief Commissioner Shri Tushar Girinath.
