MLA Iqbal Hussain has urged plot owners in three layouts under the Ramanagara Urban Development Authority (RUDA) to pay their development charges by the final deadline of August 30. He emphasized that this opportunity must be utilized without delay.
Addressing a press conference at the RUDA office on Tuesday, Hussain explained that the government had resolved legal hurdles tied to these layouts and granted them a new lease of life. In total, 1,837 plots—comprising 1,651 general plots and 176 CA (Civic Amenities) sites—were allotted in Aralekatte Health City, Jeegenahalli, and Channapatna Sunnaghatta layouts.
Following Cabinet approval, development charges were fixed at ₹200 per square foot. So far, 752 plot owners have paid around ₹17 crore, while the remaining 900 have yet to make their payments. Hussain stated that only when all dues are cleared can the authority proceed with providing essential infrastructure like roads, drinking water, drainage, and electricity.
He further warned that this is the last opportunity for defaulters. Those who fail to pay by August 30 will face plot seizure, and their money will be refunded. A temporary halt in payments over the past 20 days had led to confusion, but based on public appeals, the deadline was extended.
Hussain advised plot holders not to sell their properties, as market value has increased. Instead, he encouraged them to retain their sites and support the development process by clearing dues promptly. RUDA Chairman A.B. Chetan Kumar and Acting Commissioner Shekhar were present at the briefing.
