In a key administrative reshuffle, the Karnataka government has appointed IAS officer Akram Pasha as the new Managing Director of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). The appointment follows the transfer of outgoing MD Anbukumar, also an IAS officer, as per the government order issued earlier this week.
Akram Pasha officially assumed charge on Wednesday at the KSRTC headquarters. He took over responsibilities from IAS officer Ramachandran R, who was temporarily handling the additional charge of Managing Director. Ramachandran formally handed over the post to Pasha in a brief official ceremony held at the corporation office.
Akram Pasha brings with him a wealth of administrative experience. Prior to this, he served as Commissioner of the Labour Department and the Karnataka Housing Board. He has also held key roles as Deputy Commissioner of both Hassan and Kolar districts, where he was credited with several development and public welfare initiatives.
Known for his efficient administration and people-centric approach, Pasha’s appointment is expected to bring renewed focus on improving public transport services across the state. His leadership comes at a time when the KSRTC is aiming to expand its fleet, improve financial stability, and enhance commuter satisfaction.
With increasing demands for better connectivity and quality services, Pasha’s experience and governance style may play a crucial role in shaping the future of KSRTC operations.
Senior officials and staff welcomed the new MD and extended their support for his vision and leadership. The government’s move signals a push towards reform and performance-driven governance in public transport.
