In a coordinated move to address the city’s growing traffic woes, senior officials from multiple civic bodies convened for a high-level meeting chaired by the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Bengaluru. The meeting was held in line with the directives issued by the Hon’ble Chief Secretary of the Government of Karnataka.

Key stakeholders present included representatives from the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), and the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), among other civic authorities. The core agenda focused on developing actionable strategies to enhance urban mobility, road safety, and traffic flow across Bengaluru’s most congested zones.

Discussions centered around better coordination among civic bodies, upgrading public transport infrastructure, and synchronizing traffic signals to reduce commute times. The committee also explored integration of metro and bus services, improvement of last-mile connectivity, and stricter enforcement of lane discipline and parking regulations.

Officials emphasized the importance of data-driven planning and community engagement to create long-term, sustainable solutions for the city’s traffic challenges. The initiative is part of a broader mission to create a safer, smoother, and more efficient transport experience for Bengaluru residents. This collaborative step marks a renewed commitment by state authorities to tackle the pressing urban traffic issues and make Bengaluru a model for modern urban mobility. Further updates and policy implementations are expected in the coming weeks following detailed inter-departmental assessments.
