BMW Group India has appointed Hardeep Singh Brar as its new President and CEO, effective September 1. He will take over from Vikram Pawah, who has been named CEO of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand.
Brar brings over 30 years of experience in the Indian automobile industry and previously served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kia India. His deep knowledge of the Indian market is expected to help BMW strengthen its presence and operations in the country.
Jean-Philippe Parain, Senior Vice President for the Asia-Pacific region at BMW, said that India is one of the fastest-growing markets for the company. He expressed confidence in Brar’s ability to drive growth and innovation for the brand in India.
The company thanked Vikram Pawah for his leadership and contributions. Since joining BMW in 2017, Pawah has played a key role in expanding the company's reach in India and Australia. His efforts focused on increasing market share, enhancing customer experience, and promoting electric mobility and digitalization.
BMW Group India, which includes BMW, MINI, and Motorrad, operates in the premium segment of the market. Headquartered in Gurugram, BMW India began operations in 2007. MINI, launched in 2012, has also built a strong presence in the premium small car segment.
