Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has set a new record by surpassing 15,000 megawatts (MW) of operational renewable energy capacity, reaching 15,539.9 MW. This is the fastest and largest capacity addition in India’s green energy history.
AGEL’s portfolio includes 11,005.5 MW of solar power, 1,977.8 MW of wind power, and 2,556.6 MW from wind-solar hybrid projects.
Chairman Gautam Adani shared his excitement, saying this milestone marks India’s commitment to a green future. He highlighted that Adani Green is now among the world's top 10 green power producers, thanks to the dedication of the team and support from investors and partners.
CEO Ashish Khanna called this a proud moment, noting that AGEL is the first Indian renewable energy company to reach this level, mostly through greenfield projects. He emphasized that AGEL aims to lead globally in renewable energy by focusing on innovation and operational excellence.
AGEL’s current capacity can power around 7.9 million households and supply electricity to thirteen states, including the entire northeast region. The achievement also coincides with AGEL’s 10th anniversary of providing clean energy in India.
Looking ahead, AGEL aims to increase capacity from 15,000 MW to 50,000 MW by 2030, supporting India’s goal of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy.
AGEL is also building the world’s largest renewable energy plant at Khavda in Kutch, Gujarat, planned to generate 30,000 MW. Covering 538 sq km, it is five times bigger than Paris and visible from space.
This milestone shows India’s rapid progress towards a cleaner and greener energy future.
