A terrifying incident unfolded in the vicinity of Indiranagar Police Station, where a group of miscreants broke into the room of a sales manager, subjecting him to a brutal assault while he was on a phone call, before making off with his valuables. The victim, R. Annadorai, originally from Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, is employed as a sales manager at a medical equipment company in the city. He resided in a house on the 9th avenue of Palya, Indiranagar. The unfortunate event occurred on night at approximately 9:45 PM while Annadorai was engrossed in a phone conversation. During the incident, the intruders violently attacked Annadorai and ransacked his room, stealing two mobile phones and another electronic device with a combined value of Rs. 1.5 lakh. Additionally, they demanded Rs. 25 thousand from him, but as Annadorai did not possess the amount, they forced him to transfer money from a friend’s account using a QR code. Intimidated and fearing for his life, he complied with their demands. The ordeal lasted for about two hours, during which Annadorai pleaded with the assailants not to harm him. After the criminals finally left, he felt mentally distressed and traumatized by the incident. Subsequently, he decided to vacate the room. Having successfully looted the money and valuables, the culprits fled the scene, leaving Annadorai in shock. Seeking help, he went to his neighbor’s house and borrowed a mobile phone to immediately contact the police control room. A prompt response from the police led to their swift arrival at the crime scene. In connection with the incident, two suspects have already been apprehended by the police. The incident has left the community in Indiranagar concerned about safety and security. It highlights the importance of vigilant neighborhood watch programs and reinforced security measures to safeguard residents from such violent crimes.
