The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have apprehended Nazir alias Umar Haji, the prime accused in a case involving a conspiracy to carry out major attacks in various parts of the state, including the state capital, Bangalore. Intense interrogation of Nazir is currently underway to understand how five individuals involved in the case transformed into militants despite heightened security measures.
Nazir was taken into custody by the CCB police from Parappa’s Agrahara Central Jail. Apart from his alleged involvement in the planned attacks, authorities are also probing his role in supplying ammunition to terrorists. Notably, Nazir is the key accused in the 2008 Bangalore serial bomb blast case. As part of the investigation, CCB is also attempting to ascertain whether Nazir possesses any information about the whereabouts of absconding accused number 2, Junaid Ahmed.
Furthermore, the authorities have recently discovered Salman, who is believed to have provided firearms to one of the suspects involved in the case. The investigation indicates that Salman received instructions from Junaid, prompting the transfer of weapons to the suspects at T Begur on Tumkur Road. Interestingly, prior to his arrest in this case, Salman was already facing charges related to a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case. Additionally, there are suspicions that he may have fled the country through the Nepal border. As the interrogation continues, law enforcement agencies are determined to uncover crucial details about the planned attacks and the network of individuals involved.
