Tomato Cart Hijacked As Tomato Prices Surge, Police Investigate Incident

An incident has been reported where miscreants hijacked a cart loaded with tomatoes due to the soaring prices of the vegetable. The incident occurred near Peenya, where a bolero pick-up vehicle carrying over 250 kg of tomatoes was targeted and taken away. According to witnesses, three individuals in a car followed the farmer’s vehicle that was transporting tomatoes from Hiriyur to Kolar. They noticed the cart filled with tomatoes and decided to track it. When the vehicles reached the RMC Yard police station, the suspects in an Audi Bolero stopped and attacked the driver. During the assault, the miscreants demanded money. Upon learning that the driver did not have any cash, they forced him to transfer money via a mobile phone. Subsequently, they seized the entire vehicle upon discovering the tomatoes. After abducting the Bolero vehicle along with the driver, they left the driver near Chikkajala and fled with the vehicle filled with tomatoes. A case has been registered at the RMC Yard police station in relation to the incident. Law enforcement authorities are utilizing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the suspects, and they have set up a trap to track their movements.
