Short Movie Director Gets GISFA Award

Guruve Devaru, a Kannada short film starred in and directed by Vinayak Shivaling Uppar has got the best director award at Great Indian Short Film Festival Award (GISFA).  The short-film has a message about the importance of formal school education.
Vinayak Uppar is from Arabhavi village of Gokak taluk in the district. According to Uppar, GISFA had received more than 11,000 projects from across the country five categories such as story, direction, film, cinematography, and editing.
The story is all about giving a message to students to make optimum use of their learning age to study and not waste the same. We have also shown consequences of wasting time during the learning age, Uppar said. The movie was shot entirely in Arabhavi, he added.

  Kiran Uppar is the cinematographer, while Bengaluru-based B Satish Kumar has edited it. Manju, Akash, Praveen, Balu Patil, Maruti Iliger, Vinayak Pujeri, Sushank, Suri and many others have acted in this 48-minute-long movie.
