Alia Bhatt reveals that she was a bundle of nerve on the day she was making her MET Gala debut
Alia Bhatt was the talk of the town last month when she made her debut at the Met Gala, she walked the red carpet in a glorious Prabal Gurung creation, which was a tribute to the legend Karl Lagerfeld. Her style was based on a 1992 bridal look created for Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld and modelled by Claudia Schiffer. In a BTS video shared by Prabal, he has revealed how things unfolded right before Alia walked the famed red carpet.
Alia saw her dress in reality only when she reached New York. In the video, the actress is seen walking into a room with her eyes closed and when she saw the dress, it was exactly as she had imagined it to be. There were squeals of joy and a little bit of tearing up too. Later Prabal revealed to her that there were 100000 pearls in the dress, while the embroidery is done in India, fabric has come all the way from France and it has been brought together in New York.
Alia Bhatt and Prabal Gurung also shared that they have been discussing her Met Gala debut for three years now and that the actress agreed to it when she felt the time was right. Prabal also revealed that since Alia was Met Virgin, he decided to go with white colour, while Alia revealed that on the day of the event she woke up like she is taking an exam and was definitely a bundle of nerves but like a true Piscean she was able to block her feelings till the very end. Finally, Alia admitted that she was feeling as nervous while walking the red carpet as she felt on the day she married Ranbir Kapoor.
Sharing the video, Prabal Gurung wrote, Alia Bhatt, forever grateful we will have this for posterity. Thank you for the beautiful memory. Been a fan of your talent for the longest time and of your generous, kind soul and heart; a grateful friend. Here’s one for the books
