Nimrat Kaur Remembers Her The Lunch Box Co-Star Irrfan Khan

Must read

It has been nearly 10 years since the release of ‘The Lunch Box’, which starred Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013 and is still considered as one of the biggest exports from India. Nimrat Kaur recently opened up about the project and expressed her desire to have some screen space with Irrfan Khan in the film.
Talking about Irrfan, Nimrat told that everyone misses the actor, who was a national and international treasure. She added that though the film was a romantic one between her and Irrfan’s character, they hardly had any scenes together and that the only time they got to spend with each other was when they went to the Cannes Film Festival with the movie.
Speaking about her experience at Cannes, Nimrat said that after the screening, she was like a headless chicken and that her first leading role in a film was being showcased on a world stage. She also mentioned that she had a small conversation with Irrfan while at Cannes, asking him how he deals with so much applause and adulation coming and his only reply was ‘enjoy it, soak it up, and make the most of it because this doesn’t happen very often’. Nimrat added that Irrfan told her that humans ‘live, and suffer, and go through difficult times’, just so that they can enjoy these moments.
