The draft electoral roll for Koppal district was published on Monday as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) of electoral rolls, with District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Suresh B. Itnal urging eligible citizens to verify their details and submit claims or objections within the stipulated period.
Addressing representatives of recognised political parties at a meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Dr. Itnal said the revision was being carried out as per the Election Commission of India’s directions, with October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. The draft roll was published on August 24, while claims and objections can be submitted until September 23. The final electoral roll will be published on October 27.
The draft rolls are available at the offices of Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, all polling stations and the district administration website. Thirty-seven additional polling stations have been created in areas having more than 1,200 voters, taking the total number of polling stations to 1,352.
The district has identified 1,48,826 voters under categories including absent, shifted, deceased and duplicate entries. Citizens can submit Form 6 for new registrations, Form 6A for overseas Indian voters, Form 7 for deletion and Form 8 for corrections through Booth Level Officers, the ECINET mobile application or the Election Commission’s voter portal.
Special registration drives will be conducted on August 29-30 and September 5-6, 12-13 and 19-20 at residential areas, apartments, educational institutions and industrial establishments.
Political party representatives appreciated the district administration and BLOs for conducting the SIR process systematically. The draft electoral rolls were also distributed to representatives at the meeting.
