Mysuru District sees 5.57 lakh electors dropped from Electoral Roll

The draft electoral roll published on Monday under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has recorded a sharp reduction of 5,57,241 electors across the 11 Assembly constituencies of Mysuru district.
According to the SIR data, the total number of electors has declined from 27,99,693 as on June 16, 2026, to 22,42,452 in the draft roll published on August 24—a reduction of 19.90 per cent.
The highest reduction has been recorded in Narasimharaja Assembly constituency, where the electorate fell by 99,355, followed by Krishnaraja with 86,801, Chamaraja with 85,853 and Chamundeshwari with 75,731.
The reduction is attributed to voters identified during the SIR exercise under categories including Absent, Permanent Shifting, Dead, Already Enrolled (Duplicate) and Other.
Narasimharaja Tops ASDDO Markings
Narasimharaja recorded the highest number of voters marked under ASDDO (Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate and Other) at 99,355, accounting for 30.30 per cent of its earlier electorate.
Krishnaraja followed with 86,801 (32.93 per cent), while Chamaraja recorded 85,853 (32.51 per cent). Chamundeshwari had 75,731 voters marked under ASDDO, accounting for 21.19 per cent of its previous electorate.
Among the five categories, Permanent Shifting accounted for the largest number of cases at 2,47,161, followed by Absent – 1,34,297, Dead – 1,14,188, Duplicate – 43,920 and Other – 17,685.
The data shows that Chamundeshwari recorded 42,011 cases of permanent shifting, while Krishnaraja had the highest number at 47,606. Narasimharaja recorded the highest number of voters under the “Other” category at 13,885.
100% Enumeration Forms Digitised
The district had 27,99,693 electors, and enumeration forms were distributed to all eligible electors. Of these, 22,42,452 forms, or 80.10 per cent, were digitised.
The remaining 5,57,241 cases were marked under ASDDO, resulting in the total of digitised electors plus ASDDO cases reaching 100 per cent in every Assembly constituency.
Piriyapatna recorded the highest digitisation rate at 88.56 per cent, followed by Krishnarajanagara at 88.07 per cent, Varuna at 87.93 per cent and Hunsur at 86.36 per cent. Krishnaraja recorded the lowest digitisation rate at 67.07 per cent.
Chamundeshwari electorate falls by 75,731
In Chamundeshwari, the electorate declined from 3,57,327 to 2,81,596, a reduction of 75,731. The draft roll comprises 1,37,512 male, 1,44,064 female and 20 third-gender voters. Across the district, the draft roll comprises 10,98,058 male, 11,44,256 female and 138 third-gender electors.
Claims and Objections Open till September 23
The qualifying date for SIR is October 1, 2026. The period for filing claims and objections began on August 24 and will continue until September 23. The notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will continue until October 22, with the final electoral roll scheduled for publication on October 27, 2026.
The significant reduction in the draft electorate is expected to draw attention during the claims and objections period, when eligible citizens can seek corrections or inclusion in the electoral roll.
