CM Yogi predicts permanent wipeout of SP

New Delhi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday claimed that the Samajwadi Party (SP) would be “wiped out” permanently in the next Assembly elections, while accusing the opposition party of neglecting the poor and focusing its politics around a single family.

Speaking at an event in Lucknow where mid-day meal cooks were honoured and cashless healthcare cards were distributed, Adityanath highlighted welfare measures announced for cooks working in government primary schools. These include an increased honorarium, financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh in cases of accidental death or injury, and cashless medical treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh. The government has also doubled the saree allowance from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000.

Linking the welfare initiatives to his political criticism of the SP, the chief minister alleged that the previous SP government had failed to make the welfare of poor people a priority. He also accused the earlier administration of allowing crime, communal clashes and encroachment on the land of poor people.

Adityanath targeted SP president Akhilesh Yadav, referring to him as “Babua” and questioning his involvement in state affairs. He cited Yadav’s recent comments about several members of his family being MPs and said that family-based politics would not prevent voters from rejecting the SP in the next election.

The chief minister contrasted his government’s record with the previous administration, claiming Uttar Pradesh had moved beyond frequent riots and curfews and was now witnessing development and improved law and order.

Adityanath also criticised Yadav’s daily routine, questioning how he could find sufficient time to focus on the state. His remarks are likely to intensify the political confrontation between the BJP and SP ahead of the next Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
