The Karnataka Information Commission (KIC) has imposed a fine of ₹75,000 on Kiran, the Deputy Divisional Officer of Bangalore North Sub-Division, for not providing information to the applicants in three separate cases and for failing to attend the hearing, and has also recommended disciplinary action against the officer.
Kiran was neglecting the applications submitted to his office seeking information without providing proper information. He was also not attending the hearing of the applications held at the Information Commission. His representative was also not assigned for the hearing. Due to his negligent attitude, the State Information Commissioner of the 4th bench of the Information Commission, Rudranna Hartikote, has imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each in each case and recommended disciplinary action, sources said.
