Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh on Saturday highlighted India’s progress in digital governance, stating that initiatives such as the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) and Digital Life Certificates are making governance more transparent, efficient and citizen-focused.
Speaking during a meeting with Republic of Korea Interior and Safety Minister Yun Hojung, Dr. Singh emphasized the transformative role of technology in improving public service delivery and strengthening accountability within government systems. The Korean minister is currently on an official visit to India aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation.
The two leaders, accompanied by senior officials from their respective countries, held extensive discussions on digital governance, public administration reforms, capacity building and citizen-centric services. The meeting reflected a shared commitment to expanding collaboration in emerging technologies and governance innovation.
Welcoming the Korean delegation, Dr. Singh said India and the Republic of Korea enjoy a Special Strategic Partnership based on democratic principles, innovation and mutual aspirations for inclusive development. He referred to the Joint Strategic Vision Statement adopted during the visit of Republic of Korea President Lee Jae Myung to India earlier this year, describing it as an important roadmap for future cooperation.
Highlighting India’s governance achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Dr. Singh noted that technology-driven platforms have significantly improved grievance redressal mechanisms and administrative efficiency. He said digital tools have reduced procedural delays, enhanced transparency and strengthened citizens’ access to government services.
The minister also underlined the shared democratic values, strong cultural ties and commitment to the rule of law that bind the two nations. As leading Asian economies, India and the Republic of Korea are well-positioned to collaborate in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation and public sector modernization.
Dr. Singh further recalled the historic connection between the two countries through Princess Suriratna of Ayodhya and King Suro of the ancient Gaya confederacy. He expressed confidence that Minister Yun Hojung’s visit would further deepen bilateral engagement and expand cooperation across multiple sectors.
