Protesters raised slogans against central government, accusing it of ignoring inflation, harming welfare, misleading people, and demanded fuel and gas price reductions

Congress party workers held a massive protest in Koppal against the central government’s price hike on essential commodities including petrol diesel and gas cylinders.
Former minister and district Congress committee president Amaregouda Patil addressed the gathering at Bayyapur and condemned the BJP government saying price rise is making life difficult for common people and demanded immediate rollback of hikes.
Many Congress leaders including MLA K Raghavendra Hitnal MP K Rajashekar Hitnal former MLA K Basavaraj Hitnal and several district and local leaders participated in the protest and expressed strong opposition to central policies.
The protest witnessed strong slogans against the central government with participants accusing it of failing to control inflation and of neglecting public welfare while focusing on misleading promises to citizens. They demanded immediate reduction in fuel and cooking gas prices and said the policies of the ruling party were harming poor and middle class families across the country.
The protesters also organized a symbolic act by lighting a wood stove at the protest site to highlight the rising cost of living and the burden on households especially women who manage daily kitchen expenses under increasing inflation pressure. Speakers said the movement reflected public anger and urged the central government to take corrective steps to bring down prices and provide relief to citizens.
Weak governance allegations were raised during the protest with leaders stating that promises of development jobs and economic stability had not been fulfilled and calling for accountability. Participants appealed for immediate action to protect common people from inflation and ensure fair pricing of essential goods.
