Temporary measures taken for Kasturinagar traffic

The Bengaluru traffic and civic authorities have taken urgent temporary measures to ensure smooth vehicle movement along the Kasturinagar service road, where a sudden road cavity and waterlogging disrupted traffic on Friday. According to officials, a large pothole had developed on the service road within the police station limits, posing risks for daily commuters. In addition, water from a nearby lake bund overflowed onto the road, further worsening traffic conditions. The combined issues threatened to bring vehicular movement to a standstill in the busy stretch.

Responding promptly, civic workers filled the pothole with soil as a temporary measure. Simultaneously, with the assistance of a JCB machine, soil was used to block the inflow of water from the bund, preventing further seepage onto the road surface. Officials stated that these steps were necessary to immediately restore traffic flow and reduce commuter inconvenience.

Authorities confirmed that the measures were only temporary and that permanent repair work, including asphalting and drainage strengthening, would be taken up shortly. Traffic police have also been deployed in the area to manage vehicle movement until the situation stabilizes. Residents and road users have expressed relief at the swift intervention but urged the civic body to implement long-term solutions to prevent recurring damage during monsoon months. Officials assured that detailed inspections are underway and that durable road repair and drainage improvement works will follow soon
