BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath has promised to discuss with the heads of the government organizations encroaching on the lake and take action regarding the encroachment.
There are 208 lakes in the city. Out of these 201 lakes are covered by BBMP.
Varu admitted that several lakes under our jurisdiction are fully stressed. It has been noticed that some government organizations have encroached on the lake. We gave a notice to the BDA who had encroached on the lake. After receiving their reply, we came to know that it was the BDA organization that encroached the lake the most.
It is confirmed that not only BDA but also many other organizations have encroached on the lake. He has promised to discuss this with all the departments and take further action.
