Kangana Ranaut and Page 3 director Madhur Bhandarkar might soon join hands for an upcoming political thriller. According to the latest reports, the ace filmmaker is planning to make a movie based on a Kashmiri singer who was killed by terrorists and this time also, it will be a women-centric film.
Speculation is rife that Madhur has zeroed in on Kangana to play the female protagonist in his film. However, there are also some unconfirmed reports which suggest that the film might have hit a roadblock after Kangana Ranauts last film Dhaakad saw a poor reception at the box office. The not-so-impressive box office collection of another female-led sports drama Shabaash Mithu has also forced the makers to reportedly halt the film for the time being.
Meanwhile, Madhur Bhandarkar is all set for the release of his next film Babli Bouncer, featuring Tamannaah Bhatia in titular role. The film which will release on an OTT platform also stars Saurabh Shukla, Abhishek Bajaj and Sahil Vaid in pivotal roles. It is billed as a coming-of-age feel-good story with a slice-of-life comedic tone.
On the other hand, up next for Kangana is the much-talked-about political thriller Emergency in which she plays the role of Indias first Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Recently, the actor shared the first teaser of the film. She posted the video clip and wrote, presenting her who was called Sir Emergency shoot begins. Emergency is also Kangana Ranauts directorial debut. She has a slew of films in the pipeline including Tejas and Manikarnika 2.
