The country’s future lies in the hands of the youth of this country opined Karnataka Government TC Gehlot. Speaking at the 2nd Convoation of the Bengaluru North University the Governor said the resources the country enjoys in the youth power can work wonders for the country and called upon the youth to work to build a strong India. Calling upon the youth to become self-reliant, the Government underlined the importance of using the new avenues such as Skill India, Digital India, Make In India to become self-reliant and thus make the country a strong country. Stating the New Education Policy is aimed at providing the youth with more skills, the Governor said it is a proud for him that Karnataka is the first State in the country to introduce the New Education Police. He called upon the Educational Institutions to lay stress on providing quality education and skills to youth and make them ready to face the challenges ahead in life. Dr CN Manjunath, Director of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research called upon the parents not to pressurize their wards to score more marks instead preail on them to lead n honest life and thus help create a just society. Three eminent personalities were conferred with Honorary Doctrorate on the occasion. While noted Shahanai artist Ballesh Bhajanthri, eminent Scientist Sharad Sharma received the award, Cine Actor Ananth Nag was conferred the honour in his absence. Niranjan Vanalli, Vice Chancellor of the University was present on the occasion.
