Cooperation and District In-charge Minister ST Somasekhar visited the rain affected areas on Tuesday and conducted inspection.
The minister visited the collapsed houses in different parts of Piyapatnam taluk and directed the district administration to immediately release the compensation money to the damaged houses.
On the same occasion, he got information from the district administration about the extent of damage caused by heavy rains and the measures taken.
The rain-damaged house owners expressed their grief to the minister. The minister consoled him and said that the district administration would provide all necessary assistance.
Later, the minister went to HD Kote taluk and observed the submerged bridge at the bottom of the right bank area of ​​Kabini dam in Beachanahalli.
On this occasion, the locals submitted a request letter to the minister to provide housing facilities. Receiving the request, the minister said that everything is in the final stage and the issue will be resolved soon as the district collector has informed that the site will be allotted.
If the house is damaged due to rain, the district administration will provide quick compensation. 5 lakh for those who have lost their entire house, if the damage is less, compensation will be given on the amount of damage.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Bagadi Gautam, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Poornima and other officials were also present.
