BALLARI
The 112th foundation day of the Kannada Sahitya Parishad was celebrated in Ballari with cultural respect and tributes to language contributors. Dignitaries at the event said it is everyone’s duty to remember the sacrifice of Pinjar Ramjan Saheb of Kappagal village who gave his life for Kannada.
Speakers highlighted that Kannada language has a rich history and strong cultural value that must be protected by all generations with responsibility and pride. Vice Chancellor Dr Venkatesh said Kannada has been important since ancient times and its beauty lies in dignity and continuous use by the people. He mentioned contributions of Sir M Visvesvaraya Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar Kuvempu Bendre and Shivaram Karanth in strengthening Kannada language and culture across Karnataka.
Field Education Officer Dr I R Akki said students must improve Kannada skills and many schools in the district have achieved excellent academic results this year. Students who scored full marks in SSLC and PUC examinations were honoured with talent awards during the programme. Religious leader Shri Prabhu Mahaswamy said literature vachana tradition and Dasa
Sahitya have played a major role in preserving Kannada identity. The programme was chaired by Dr B Nagana Gowda and attended by teachers students and members of the public who made the event successful. Organisers thanked all participants and said such literary events help strengthen Kannada pride unity and awareness among young generation.
