Indian fast bowler Arundhati Reddy has achieved a career milestone by being named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for February 2026. This prestigious honor follows her spectacular performance in Australia, where her lethal bowling helped India secure a historic T20 series victory on foreign soil.
The 28-year-old seamer was the standout star of the three-match series, finishing as the leading wicket-taker with eight scalps. Her precision was on full display in the opening game in Sydney, where she snatched a career-best 4/22. She continued her dominance in Canberra and Adelaide, maintaining an impressive average of 10.87. This 2-1 series win marks India’s first T20 trophy in Australia since 2016, providing a massive confidence boost for the squad.
“Beating Australia on their home turf is never easy,” Reddy remarked, dedicating the award to her teammates. She believes this victory proves that India will be the team to watch during the upcoming T20 World Cup in England this summer. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lean on Reddy’s consistency as the team prepares for a five-match series in South Africa starting April 17.
With the World Cup kicking off on June 12, Reddy’s rise to the top of the ICC rankings comes at the perfect time. Her ability to take wickets under pressure has made her an indispensable asset for the “Women in Blue” as they hunt for their first global T20 title.
