KREDL war room to aid farmers avail KUSUM-B scheme benefits

Bengaluru

To ensure that eligible farmers do not miss out on the benefits of the PM-KUSUM-B Scheme due to lack of awareness or technical hurdles, the Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) has established a dedicated War Room at its Nagarbhavi office in Bengaluru.

The War Room became operational on December 23 and will function till December 31, providing farmers with direct access to information and assistance over phone. Farmers across Karnataka can contact 080-22202100 and 8095132100 to clarify doubts, seek guidance on online payments and complete formalities related to the scheme without relying on middlemen. Authorities have clarified that farmers should not pay any amount to anyone, except their own contribution under the scheme.

The PM-KUSUM-B scheme has witnessed a strong response, with 83,204 farmers already registered on the portal www.souramitra.com. Applications that have received technical feasibility clearance are now eligible to proceed with online payment. Farmers are required to register on the portal, select their preferred vendor, and pay their contribution online. The last date for payment is December 31, 2025, failing which applicants will become ineligible.

To extend uninterrupted support, KREDL staff will work in two shifts from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily without leave until December 31, officials said. The War Room is expected to play a key role in resolving technical issues and ensuring maximum participation from farmers in the scheme.

The scheme ensures 8 hours of assured daytime power supply, removing the need for night-time irrigation. It includes free maintenance for 5 years by the supplier. Solar technology is gaining popularity in rural areas due to its easy installation and long service life.
