Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged the Indian diaspora to participate in the ‘Bharat ko Janiye’ (Know India) Quiz, aiming to strengthen the connection between India and its global community. In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister urged the diaspora, as well as friends from other nations, to join this unique initiative, highlighting it as an opportunity to rediscover India’s rich culture and heritage.
PM Modi emphasized that the quiz would not only deepen the bond with the Indian diaspora but also offer winners a chance to experience India’s wonders. He invited participants to engage with their families and friends and also recommended taking part in various cultural events, such as the Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj, the visit to the Ram Temple at Ayodhya, and the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar in January 2025.
Launched virtually by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on November 11, the fifth edition of the quiz runs from November 11 to December 11, 2024, and is open to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) or foreign nationals aged 14-50. The top 30 scorers in two categories will be invited for an immersive ‘Know India Tour’ and to attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. The quiz, started in 2015, aims to foster a deeper understanding of India’s history, culture, and global contributions.
