Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ returns to Billboard Top 100

Michael Jackson has once again proved why he remains the undisputed King of Pop. His legendary hit Thriller has re-entered the Billboard Hot 100, soaring to No. 10 after the 2025 Halloween season. With this, Jackson becomes the first artist in history to achieve Top 10 hits in six different decades — the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and now the 2020s.

The iconic track climbed from No. 32 to No. 10, earning Jackson yet another record for chart longevity. He surpasses Andy Williams, who had achieved Top 10 placements in five decades before his passing.

Jackson first entered the Billboard Top 10 as a solo artist in 1971 with Got to Be There. Over his extraordinary career, he scored 30 Top 10 hits, including 13 that reached No. 1. His last Top 10 entry was a posthumous feature on Drake’s Don’t Matter to Me in 2018.

The renewed interest in Thriller comes as anticipation builds for Michael, the upcoming biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua. The film, starring Jaafar Jackson — Michael’s nephew — is set to release in theatres on April 24, 2026, after being moved from its original October 2025 date.

Featuring Miles Teller, Larenz Tate, and Laura Harrier, the movie promises to give fans a deeper look into Jackson’s rise to superstardom. Produced by Graham King, John Branca, and John McClain, Michael is expected to be a heartfelt tribute to the global icon’s enduring legacy.
