Outgoing Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Friday accused the BJP of internal conflicts over portfolio distribution and claimed the party was making excuses to evade its election promises.

At a press conference, she alleged that BJP leaders were fighting over ministerial positions to exploit public funds and had no real intention of fulfilling their manifesto commitments.

Atishi further claimed that BJP planned to blame AAP for its inability to implement promises, citing a supposed financial crisis due to the previous administration. However, she highlighted that under AAP, Delhi’s budget had grown from ₹31,000 crore in 2014-15 to ₹77,000 crore in 2024-25, demonstrating sound financial management.

She also emphasized that the Kejriwal-led government had cleared debts inherited from the previous Congress regime and demanded the BJP start delivering on its pledges, especially the ₹2,500 monthly allowance for women.

The BJP, which won a massive victory in the 70-member Delhi Assembly, securing 48 seats while AAP dropped to 22, has yet to announce its chief minister and cabinet ministers. Atishi suggested that the party’s delay in forming the government reflected its lack of preparedness and internal struggles, raising concerns about governance in the capital.
