School Parents' Horata Samiti has presented a petition to the state govt, urging prompt measures to enhance the quality of education in the district schools.
Over the past ten years, the quality of education in govt, and private primary schools, whether in Kannada or English, consistently declined within the district.

This deterioration is now evident at the high school level, and students are falling behind academically. As highlighted in the petition, a recent survey revealed that over 7,000 students in the district are unable to read or write.
The petition notes that despite directives to provide additional support to underperforming students, some educators fail to fulfil their responsibilities and blame the students instead. This has become particularly pronounced in SSLC students.

In light of these challenges, committee members have called for appointment of personal counsellors for struggling students, and demanded recruitment of qualified teachers based on subject expertise.

Separation of students from different grades to avoid mixed-class teaching; the restriction of teachers duties to essential tasks only; installing CCTV cameras in classrooms, offices, and school grounds, and implementing mandatory biometric attendance.

The delegation included SA Gafar, Convener of the Association, along with members Sunkappa Meesi, Channabasappa
