Pan-Indian star Sapthami Gowda, who rose to fame with Kantara, is set to take on another prominent role in a pan-India production. The highly anticipated Kannada historical film Halagali has already generated buzz, with Daali Dhananjaya in a key role. Now, Sapthami has been cast as the lead actress, adding to the excitement surrounding the project.

Directed by Sukesh D.K. and produced by young entrepreneur Kalyan Chakravarthy Dhulipalla, Halagali is a grand-budget, multi-starrer film. It has already caught the industry’s attention and is set to begin filming soon. The movie will be released in two parts and boasts a massive production budget, making it one of the most ambitious projects in recent times.

The film will be shot in five languages, including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi, with a diverse cast from various language backgrounds. It will bring to life the untold story of the brave warriors of Halagali, a village in Karnataka known for staging one of the first guerrilla wars against British rule.

For Daali Dhananjaya, this film marks another milestone in his career. Known for taking on diverse roles, he will now portray a warrior, wielding bow, arrows, and guns as he steps onto the battlefield to reenact an electrifying chapter from Karnataka’s history.

Director Sukesh D.K. aims to bring to the screen the fascinating tale of the Bedar community of Halagali, whose fight for freedom has left an indelible mark on history.

Producer Kalyan Chakravarthy Dhulipalla, a young businessman from Ballari, is backing the high-budget project under his banner Duhara Movies. With a previous production, Rachayitha, in Telugu and over 20 film distributions across Kannada and Telugu to his credit, he is no stranger to the industry.

The film will feature an extensive technical team, including Kannada composer Vasuki Vaibhav, who will handle the music. Notably, action director Vikram Mor, known for his work on KGF, has been roped in to design the stunts. To recreate the historical setting, elaborate village sets, including a special Halagali village setup, are being constructed, adding to the grandeur of the production.

With Halagali, the filmmakers are poised to bring a forgotten slice of Karnataka’s pre-independence history to the big screen, combining cinematic splendor with a powerful narrative of resistance and valor.
