BJP State President and MLA BY Vijayendra has announced plans for a major protest in Hubli against the Congress-led state government, which recently withdrew sedition charges against individuals involved in a violent incident in 2022. Speaking during a BJP meeting in Bantwala, Vijayendra criticized the government’s decision as ‘unfortunate and reprehensible,’ highlighting that the police had previously filed an FIR and that an NIA investigation was ongoing.
He accused the Siddaramaiah administration of failing to support development and vowed that the BJP would continue to challenge the government on various issues, including scams involving the Valmiki Development Corporation and Mysuru MUDA.
As the Legislative Council by-election approaches for the seat vacated by Kota Srinivasa Pujari, the BJP has nominated Hindutva activist Kishore Kumar Puttur as their candidate. Vijayendra expressed confidence in a strong victory for the BJP in the constituency, with all party representatives committed to supporting their candidate.
