NR Ramesh, President of the Anti-Corruption Forum, has appealed to Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot to grant prosecution permission for investigations into significant scams involving high-profile individuals, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

The scams under scrutiny include the de-notification scandal of RMV 2nd Phase Survey Nos. 20 and 21 in Bhupasandra village, valued at over Rs 400 crore, with accusations against several retired IAS officers and the Chief Minister himself.

Another case involves the illegal allocation of two major CA plots worth more than Rs 250 crore by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) to the Siddhartha Vihara Trust, implicating prominent Congress leaders including Mallikarjuna Kharge and his family.

Additionally, a major scam defrauding the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) of Rs 69 crore in advertising fees during 2015-16 and 2016-17 has been reported, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Minister KJ George, and others named as accused.

Complaints regarding these scams have already been filed with the Lokayukta and People’s Representatives Court. The Lokayukta Police are now seeking the Governor’s permission to register cases and initiate thorough investigations. The Governor has stated he will review the documents with legal advisors before making a decision.
