The remains of the Kali River bridge, which collapsed on August 7, are now being cleared by the IRB company. The 665-meter bridge had a 300-meter section fall into the river, leaving behind concrete slabs, cables, asphalt, and iron bars. For a month, debris was left on the site, causing concern among the public and fishermen.
Recently, the district administration and NHAI officials held meetings to address the issue, leading to the start of debris removal by the contracted company. Currently, JCBs are working to clear the uncollapsed sections of the bridge at both ends. On the Sadashivagad side, parts of the bridge and its pillars remain standing, while the concrete slabs in the river must be removed without causing damage to the new bridge. The task of lifting these slabs without affecting the new bridge is proving to be challenging for the company. The public had previously expressed frustration over the delay in clearing the remains, prompting action from local authorities
