A recent survey has shown overwhelming support for electric vehicles (EVs) in the last-mile delivery sector among residents of Bengaluru and Hubli-Dharwad. The survey, conducted by the Sustainability Mobility Network (SMN), reveals that 96% of respondents in these cities believe that transitioning to EVs in last-mile delivery is crucial for reducing air pollution.
In Bengaluru, 98.1% of respondents consider the shift to EVs by delivery companies as very important or somewhat important for cutting emissions. About 80.1% stated they would switch to a brand that commits strongly to reducing emissions. Additionally, 45.7% of Bengaluru residents are highly aware of local air quality issues, and 60% are informed about companies’ EV transition plans.
In Hubli-Dharwad, 93.9% of respondents view the EV transition as important for lowering pollution. Seventy-four percent are willing to change brands based on stronger emission reduction commitments.
