Dy Comm’r honors girl for lifting auto to rescue injured mother

The Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada honored a girl named Vaibhavi for her bravery after she rushed to aid her mother, who was injured in an accident. On September 6, in Kinnigoli, an auto rickshaw lost control and struck Chetana, 35, as she was crossing the road near Ramanagara 2nd Avenue. Vaibhavi, a Class 7 student, immediately came to her mother’s aid.

The Deputy Commissioner, MP Mullai Mugilan, invited Vaibhavi to his office and honored her with a turban and a flower garland. He praised her for her promptness and courage, calling her actions an example for others. Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. G Santosh Kumar, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Hemalatha, Assistant Director Suresh Adiga, and Vaibhavi’s family were present at the event.

CCTV footage captured Vaibhavi lifting the rickshaw and helping the injured. Her mother, Chetana, is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Suratkal. The incident highlighted Vaibhavi’s quick response and willingness to assist in a critical situation.
