IndianOil set a new record by blending 23.24 crore litres of biodiesel with regular diesel, reaching a blending ratio of 0.49 per cent. This ratio surpassed the 0.43 per cent blending achieved by other oil marketing companies. IndianOil’s efforts were recognized at the India Bio-Energy & Tech Expo 2024, where the company was awarded for its leadership in the biofuel sector.
In the current fiscal year, IndianOil has achieved a 0.73 per cent biodiesel blending ratio, reinforcing its leadership in the industry. The company has also made significant progress in ethanol fuel blending, achieving over 15 per cent ethanol blending in its base petrol, which aligns with the national goal of 20 per cent ethanol blending by 2025.
The E20 fuel, which contains 20 per cent ethanol, is now available at nearly 7,000 IndianOil fuel stations across the country. IndianOil has also introduced ETHANOL-100 fuel, available at 400 stations in five states.
Further advancements include the establishment of India’s first 2G ethanol plant and the world’s first 3G ethanol plant at Panipat. IndianOil was honoured for achieving the highest biodiesel blending during FY 2023-24. The award was presented at the India Bio-Energy & Tech Expo 2024. The event highlighted the role of biofuels in reducing fossil fuel usage and praised IndianOil’s contributions to the bioenergy sector.
