Athani MLA Laxman Savadi has dispelled rumors of internal discord within the Congress party. He affirmed that the selection of candidates for the Athani Municipality was unanimous.
Shivleela Butali has been elected as the President, and Bhuvaneswari Yankanchi as the Vice-President of the Athani Municipality. Both were elected unopposed, reflecting a consensus among the 27-member council.
Savadi commented on the election, stating that the process was conducted smoothly and that there was no contention among party members. He emphasized that the candidates were chosen for their commitment to the town’s development, rather than their party affiliations.
He also addressed the common occurrence of resorts during elections, noting that despite these practices, the outcome was achieved with full agreement.
