Bagalkot
A large protest was held by the Muslim community in the city condemning derogatory remarks made by Maharashtrian Swamiji Ramgiri Guru Narayan Giriharaja about Prophet Muhammad. Demonstrators gathered in front of the district administration building, chanting slogans and demanding the Swamiji’s arrest.
The protesters called on the Maharashtra government to issue an arrest directive for the Swamiji. They also requested intervention from the President through the Bagalkot District Collector. The controversial statement was made by the Swamiji during a program in Shah Panchale village, Nashik district, Maharashtra.
