On day three of the Chennai Pro Championship 2024 at TNGF Cosmo Golf Course, Gurugram’s Dhruv Sheoran shot a remarkable five-under 67 to rise two spots and join Manu Gandas as co-leader with a total score of 13-under 203. Both Sheoran and Gandas are from DLF Golf & Country Club, Gurugram. Gandas, who also carded a four-under 68, has shared the lead for three consecutive days.
Pune’s Rohan Dhole Patil, who was tied for the lead at the halfway mark, shot a 71 and now stands in third place at 10-under 206. Faridabad’s Abhinav Lohan (69) and Bangladesh’s Jamal Hossain (70) are tied for fourth at eight-under 208.
Sheoran, starting the day in third place and one stroke off the lead, followed up his second-round 67 with another impressive 67. He showcased his skill with a spectacular eagle on the Par-4 10th hole, where he holed his second shot from near the trees. Despite a bogey on the 15th, he secured three birdies on the 13th, 14th, and 17th holes. Sheoran, ranked 23rd in the PGTI, is aiming for his first PGTI victory and credited his recent putting adjustments for his strong performance.
Gandas, who has been at the top of the leaderboard for the first two days, had a challenging round with six birdies and two bogeys. Although he struggled with his ball-striking and putting, he made crucial up-and-downs to stay in contention. Gandas, currently second in the PGTI Order of Merit, hopes to use his course knowledge to his advantage in the final round. Chennai’s S. Prasanth is tied for 49th at four-over 220.
