Malayalam actress Sheetal Thamby has filed a legal notice against renowned actress Manju Warrier, accusing her of negligence during the filming of ‘Footage’. Sheetal is seeking Rs 5 crore in damages for severe injuries she sustained on set, according to sources.
The incident occurred in the Chimmini forest, where Sheetal, also serving as an assistant director, was performing a fight scene. The notice claims that the scene, which required several takes, was conducted without adequate safety measures, leading to her injuries. Sheetal alleges that the production company failed to provide necessary medical care, forcing her to pay for surgery out of pocket.
Sheetal’s lawyer, Ranjith Marar, criticized the production for lacking basic medical facilities, including an ambulance. He also noted that Sheetal was required to perform stunts typically handled by professionals, exacerbating her injuries. Despite her efforts to secure compensation and her participation in promotional activities for the film, the production team has only offered Rs 1.80 lakh in installments, leaving Sheetal financially burdened and unable to work, as alleged.
