Director Vignesh Karthick is preparing a sequel to his anthology film Hot Spot. He promises that the follow-up will be quirky, wacky, hard-hitting, and emotional, while maintaining the anthology format.
Vignesh, who also acted in the first film, will reprise his role in the sequel, with Brigida Saga cast as his wife. The original film featured four stories, but it was intended as a series with eight episodes. Given the success of the first part, we decided to create a sequel, as we already had more stories ready, he explained. Vignesh added that he is a fan of Black Mirror and wanted to create something similar in Tamil.
He also reflects on the challenge of getting audiences to watch smaller films in theaters. There have been many excellent smaller films, but they often gain attention only after their OTT releases, he noted.
