Sunny Deol has officially introduced Varun Dhawan as Fauji in the highly anticipated war film ‘Border 2.’ On Friday, Sunny shared a video on Instagram showcasing Varun’s role, featuring the iconic song ‘Sandese Aate Hai’ by Sonu Nigam to add a musical touch.
In his post, Sunny wrote, ‘Welcoming Fauji varundvn to the Battalion of Border 2’. Varun, excited about his role, also took to Instagram to express his enthusiasm. He shared how the original ‘Border,’ which he watched as a child, had a profound impact on him, inspiring admiration for the armed forces. He said that to be part of ‘Border 2’ with J P Dutta and Bhushan Kumar is a special moment. Working with Sunny Paaji makes it even more special. I am eager to bring a brave jawaan’s story to life in what promises to be India’s biggest war film… Jai Hind, he wrote.
On the 27th anniversary of the original ‘Border,’ the makers surprised fans with the announcement of ‘Border 2.’ In a video, Sunny Deol highlighted that the film would honor a promise made by a soldier and salute the Indian soil.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and directed by Anurag Singh, ‘Border 2’ is set to begin shooting in October and is scheduled for a grand release on January 23, 2026. The film will follow a similar setting to the Battle of Longewala.
